No. 1 Nebraska wrecks Wright State in Devaney Center opener
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — No. 1 Nebraska volleyball swept Wright State on Friday night in its first true home match of the season.
The Huskers won 25-16, 25-16, 25-20 at the Bob Devaney Center.
The AVCA First Serve Showcase was held at Pinnacle Bank Arena, a neutral location, so this was Nebraska’s official home opener.
The Huskers had a hitting percentage of .330% while holding the Raiders to .073%.
Nebraska dominated the first set, and although the Raiders were hot on the Huskers’ tails at the start of the second set, NU eventually pulled away.
Wright State rallied in the third set, at one point leading 11-6.
But the Huskers responded with two 4-0 scoring runs that helped them secure the sweep.
Harper Murray led Nebraska with 11 kills.
Murray, Laney Choboy and Bergen Reilly each had nine digs.
NU (5-0) continues the Ameritas Players Challenge on Sunday in a match against California.
Tipoff is at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
