No. 21 Nebraska softball sweeps Minnesota

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 21 Nebraska softball coasted to a dominating weekend in Lincoln with a sweep over Big Ten foe Minnesota.

The Huskers opened up the series Friday night with a 8-0 run rule. They followed that up with an 8-3 victory Saturday and a 8-2 win on Sunday.

They outscored the Gophers 24-5 in this weekend’s series.

In Sunday’s game, 5 of the Huskers’ 8 runs came in the bottom of the third inning, which also consisted of five errors by the Gophers. They had six total.

Nebraska improved to 23-8 on the season with a 4-1 mark in conference competition, while Minnesota fell to 13-18 and 2-5 in Big Ten play.

Ava Bredwell led Sunday’s affair, going 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBIs.

Nebraska will hit the road Wednesday night but won’t go far.

The Huskers have a date with the UNO Mavericks. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
