No. 23 Nebraska baseball drops both games of double-header against Louisiana

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The No. 23-ranked Nebraska baseball team lost both its games against Louisiana Saturday at Tigue Moore Field in Lafayette.

In the first game of the double-header, the Huskers took a 4-1 loss against the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Dylan Carey went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, while Caden Brumbaugh, Gabe Swansen and Devin Nunez each recorded a single.

Ty Horn (0-1) took his first loss of the season on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits across six innings of work.

The sophomore stuck out five hitters and walked a pair.

In the second game of the day, Nebraska fell 10 -2 while only totaling five hits.

Nunez and Will Jesske each knocked in a run, with Nunez’s run being a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning.

Will Walsh (1-1) took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits over two innings of work.

Nebraska saw seven pitchers take the mound, only totaling seven strikeouts between the group.

The Huskers will travel to Frisco, Texas to play in the Frisco College Baseball Classic. Their first matchup will be against Sam Houston on Friday at 6 p.m.
