No. 5 Wisconsin sweeps No. 1 Nebraska, spoiling perfect season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — No. 1 Nebraska volleyball won’t have a perfect season.

Wisconsin (25-3) dealt the Huskers their first loss on Friday, winning 25-22, 28-26, 25-16.

Nebraska (27-1) hit .243, compared with .357 for the Badgers.

Sarah Franklin led No. 5 Wisconsin with 17 kills, and Anna Smrek added 16.

Franklin and Julia Orzol each had a game-high 12 digs for the Badgers.

Harper Murray led the way for Nebraska, with 15 kills. Ally Batenhorst and Merritt Beason each added 11.

Bergen Reilly had the most assists, 32, and digs, 10.

The Huskers will finish the regular season at Minnesota on Saturday. The match will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network at 8 p.m.
