No bond for man accused in killings at rural Nebraska bowling alley

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The man accused of fatally shooting two men in a small northwest Nebraska town will be held without bail.
Knox County Judge Donna F. Taylor ruled Thursday that no bond would be allowed for 25-year-old Alias Reed.
Reed is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Curtis Strom and William Reffett.
The killings happened on Feb. 20 at Strom’s bowling alley, Curt’s Lanes and Dining, in Bloomfield, a city of about 1,000 people.
Court documents allege that Reed went to the bowling alley with a shotgun hidden in a cardboard box.
He took it out and told Reffett that he was going to rob him, according to an arrest affidavit.
Reffett turned around and walked to the back of the bowling alley, and investigators say Reed followed him and shot him in the head.
He then shot Strom in the head, stole some money and left out the back door, the affidavit says.
Investigators say he went down the alley and met up with his girlfriend, 27-year-old Kaylynn Sweazy.
Court documents say Reed and Sweazy dumped the shotgun on a gravel road.
Sweazy was charged with evidence tampering.
On Thursday, Taylor set her bond at $100,000. She must pay 10% of that, or $10,000, to be released from jail.
Reed’s preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 20.
Sweazy waived her preliminary hearing, and her case has been sent to district court, where she will be arraigned on March 26.
