No serious injuries reported after LPS bus ends up in yard after crash

A Lincoln Public Schools bus ended up in someone’s front yard after being involved in an accident Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 8:20 a.m. near the intersection of Sumner Street and Crestline Drive.
Officials said no serious injuries were reported. It’s unclear how many students were on the bus.
Officials say the car and bus tried to slow down before colliding into each other. The bus then veered into the front yard of a nearby home.
One parent has lived in the area for 11 years and has told her children to always avoid the intersection at all costs.
“Everyday it’s just a daily stress that there are no yield signs,” said LeAnn Tinsley. “Some of the other streets that are busy like South Street from 70th to 84th has yield signs on each of the cross streets.”
The intersection brings a lot of traffic in the neighborhood as it’s near a few schools.
“As a parent whose 10 year olds are out running around riding their bikes and hover boards, it’s frustrating,” said Lincoln Parent, Stephanie Voges.
Channel 8 Eyewitness News reached out to the city to see if they wanted to comment. They told us right now, they can’t comment on incidents that are still under investigation.
