LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Callers report the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency phone line not working after City and County Offices within Lincoln upgraded their telephone systems.

Since the change, telephone calls made to the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number, 402-441-6500, have been reported to not always go through.  Some callers report “their call cannot be completed as dialed” when dialing the 6500 number, said Sheriff Terry Wagner.

Callers who are not getting through or are told “their call cannot be completed as dialed” are urged to call 402-441-6000 and ask to be transferred to the Sheriff’s Office.

Your call will be directed to the Communications Center’s non-emergency line and you will be transferred to your intended recipient.
