LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — After escaping consequences in three states, a convicted man is headed back to Nebraska to face the music.

The man, 31-year-old Kentrell Monroe of Norfolk, was arrested in rural White County, Arkansas, according to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger.

In 2020, Monroe missed his sentencing hearing for a felony conviction of possession of a controlled substance in Stanton County District Court.

He had been arrested after being caught with over 1,500 ecstasy pills worth $22,000 to $30,000 back in 2019.

Monroe also failed to show up in Madison County Court after he was found with roughly ¾ of a pound of marijuana and a significant amount of wax THC in Norfolk, according to court documents.

After he absconded, warrants for his arrest were issued. Monroe would later be arrested in Arizona, but court officials granted him a cash bond, which was paid.

Monroe then left Arizona before an extradition hearing and was later arrested in Texas.

Despite a hold being placed on him, Texas court officials also granted Monroe bond, allowing him to escape extradition for a second time.

Monroe was arrested a third time while on the lam in Arkansas after he was caught speeding last week.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office says authorities in Arkansas found Monroe with 40 pounds of methamphetamine during the traffic stop.

An extradition to Nebraska won’t take place until Monroe’s new drug charges in Arkansas are resolved, deputies say.
