Norfolk park adding new disc golf baskets

NORFOLK, Neb. (KLKN) – The City of Norfolk announced an upgrade to the disc golf course at Skyview Park. The upgrade brings 18 new baskets to the course.

The Norfolk Area Visitors Bureau, Norfolk Area Community Foundation Fund, Norfolk Disc Golf Club and the City of Norfolk partnered together to update the course.

“With these new baskets, Skyview Park will remain one of the top courses in the state.  We are excited for the update, and appreciate the support from the community,” said Ray Johnson, Vice President of Norfolk Disc Golf Club.

According to a press release, the current baskets were discontinued in 2019, soon they will no longer be allowed for sanctioned PDGA tournament play. Nate Powell, Parks and Recreation Director, says they plan to install the new baskets this spring.
