Norfolk Police chief, two others will retire under settlement with city
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Three high-ranking members of the Norfolk Police Division on administrative leave have reached settlements with the city.
The settlements were made public Thursday in the agenda for Monday’s Norfolk City Council meeting.
Under the agreements, Chief Don Miller, Capt. Chad Reiman and Lt. Josh Bauermeister will all retire on Dec. 31.

They were placed on leave last summer during an investigation into the work environment at the department.
The settlements say that “no allegations have been sustained regarding the Investigation” and that the city “takes no position on the merits” of the probe.
Miller will receive $408,000 under the settlement, plus payment for unused vacation and sick time.
Reiman will get $250,000 and compensation for unused vacation and sick time.
The city will pay Bauermeister $150,000, plus money for unused paid time off.
The council will consider the settlements at its Monday meeting.
