Norris dominates Crete in road win
CRETE, Neb. (KLKN) – The Norris Titans defeated the Crete Cardinals 49-7 on Friday at Al Papik Field.
On the first play of the game, Cardinals quarterback Reece Vertin attempted a pass to the right side, but it was picked off by Titans defensive back Jax Gates, putting Norris inside the red zone.
A few plays later, Norris found themselves inside the 10-yard line. Running back Blake Macklin received the handoff and find the end zone for the game’s first score.
After a Crete fumble, the Titans marched down the field, scoring a passing touchdown as QB Jarrett Behrends connected with Macklin for another score.
Following another turnover by Crete, Norris capitalized again. This time Behrends connected with wideout Alec Small to increase the lead to 21-0.
Crete found the end zone with just a few minutes left in the first half on a 48-yard receiving touchdown for wideout Jules Reed from Vertin.
Norris finished the first half up 42-7 and rolled to victory from there.
