Norris School District alters reduced speed limit timing near campus to ‘enhance safety’
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Norris School District is making changes this week to the speed limit around its campus before and after class.
In a letter sent to families, the district announced that its changing the timing of the flashing beacons that reduce the speed limit to 35 mph near Norris campus.
School officials said the change is being made to “enhance safety due to the high number of students, staff, and parents present on campus for school and related activities.”
Effective immediately, the the flashing beacons will be active from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. daily.
The district said there will be an “increased law enforcement presence” while implementing the change.
