Norris wins dogfight against Lincoln Pius X, moves to 3-2 on the season
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Norris Titans went on the road Friday night and came out on top in a tough battle, beating Lincoln Pius X 24-14.
The first half was a back-and-forth defensive battle, as the only points came from Norris’ Evan Greenfield on a 33-yard field goal to close out the Titans’ opening drive.
Both offenses woke up in the second half, as Greenfield came through again on a 42-yard touchdown catch to give the Titans a 10-0 lead early in the third quarter.
The Thunderbolts answered right back. Quarterback Kolbe Volkmer threw a dart to Rylan Doering to finally get on the board, making the score 10-7.
But the Titans poured it on in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Jarrett Behrends found Chris Garner Jr. for a 6-yard touchdown to take a 17-7 lead.
Behrends went back to Greenfield again for an 87-yard touchdown to break the game open, giving the Titans a 24-7 lead.
The Bolts got a last-minute rushing touchdown from Volkmer to make the final score more respectable.
Norris moves to 3-2 on the season, while the Bolts fall to 2-3.
Both teams will be at home next week, as the Titans host Lincoln Standing Bear and the Bolts host Omaha Skutt.
