North Carolina man arrested for attempted kidnapping, enticement of teenage Lincoln girl

Authorities arrested a North Carolina man they say traveled to Lincoln to have sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Lincoln Police arrested Alexander Kingston, 27, Saturday at Bethany Park – the spot officials say he planned to meet with the girl.
Police were first alerted to communication between Kingston and the teen by her parents on March 29. The conversations, which took place in chat rooms and social media, were sexual in nature, police said.
Kingston offered to drive from North Carolina to pick the girl up and take her to another state, but not before stopping at a hotel to engage in sexual activity, police said.
Investigators took over communications with Kingston and set up the meeting spot where they eventually took him into custody.
Authorities say Kingston had condoms, marijuana, and a grinder on him.
Kingston was arrested for child enticement and attempted kidnapping.
police say the man met and was chatting with the teenage girl through social media and chat rooms…
The girl’s mother reported the activity to police…
Investigators took over, and met him at a lincoln park… Where he was arrested.
“The conversations were sexual in nature and the man agreed that he was going to drive here to pick her up and take her to another state,” said Officer Angela Sands with LPD.
“The man also requested that she send nude photographs and said that they would stop and stay in a hotel,” said Sands.
Police say this is an important reminder for parents to stay in the loop on what teenagers are doing on the internet.
“A parent was in tune with what was going on in their child’s life. They alerted us to the fact that these conversations were going on, which is what allowed us to then continue the investigation and arrest Kingston,” said Sands.
This story is just another reminder that the internet can be a dangerous place.
Lincoln police encourages parents to get more involved in their teenage children’s online footprint.
