LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A semitrailer driver was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 80 in central Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on I-80 near Elm Creek, just west of Kearney.

A semi was parked on the westbound shoulder in a construction zone when it was struck by another semi that was hauling a piece of agriculture equipment.

The crash caused the ag equipment to go into the eastbound lanes and hit an oncoming semi, according to the patrol.

The driver of the eastbound semi — 49-year-old Viacheslav Nadolinkskiiof Dallas, North Carolina — was killed in the crash.

The two other drivers suffered minor injuries and have since been released from the hospital.

An investigation is ongoing.  The crash shut down I-80 for about five hours.
