Lincoln Fire & Rescue spokeswoman MJ Lierman said crews were sent there around 4 p.m.
People inside the UPS Store evacuated before LFR arrived.
Nearby stores were also evacuated out of an “abundance of caution,” Lierman said.
About 7:30 p.m., authorities said the package was not hazardous and cleared the scene.
The investigation has been turned over to the Lincoln Police Department, and police have contacted the person who dropped off the package.
