North Lincoln home has ‘significant damage’ after electrical short sparked fire, LFR says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An electrical short started a fire at a north Lincoln home on Monday, officials say.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue spokeswoman Nancy Crist said crews were sent to the home near 20th Street and Cornhusker Highway around 2:50 p.m.

When crews arrived, the single-story house was “fully involved,” Crist said.  Before going inside, crews had to extinguish flames from the outside.

No one was injured, and the home’s resident was relocated.

Crist said there was “significant damage” to the entire structure, but a fire inspector is still working to determine the total amount of damage.
