Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to a home near 27th and Superior just before 2:30 this afternoon, when a neighbor noticed a fire starting on the back porch of a home.

The fire is believed to have started in the charcoal container left on the wooden porch.

LFR Battalion Chief, Tim Linke, says the residents were not home at the time of the fire, but should be able to continue to live in the home.

“The owners should be able to re–occupy the structure, but we haven’t been able to contact them yet. So we’re trying to get a hold of them so we can talk some things through with them,” said Chief Linke.

No injuries were reported, and the damage amounts are still being determined.
