North Lincoln Walmart evacuated due to faulty refrigeration unit

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A faulty refrigeration unit at a Walmart in north Lincoln delayed some shoppers Thursday afternoon.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were sent to the store at 27th Street and Superior streets around 1:30 p.m.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said a malfunctioning freon detector on a refrigeration unit led to the store’s evacuation.

Eventually, crews found the problem, and a refrigeration technician arrived to help out.

Walmart was closed for about an hour.
