Northern Nebraska authorities searching for 900 feet of stolen irrigation cables

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A northern Nebraska sheriff’s office is coming up dry in its search for an irrigation system’s cables.
On Friday, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report that 900 feet of span cable had been stolen sometime in the last two weeks.
The cable was used in an irrigation system at a farm in southwest Knox County, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
Investigators think that the thief, or thieves, used a “grinder-type” tool to remove the cable from the irrigation towers.
An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 402-288-4261.
