Nowear BMX returns to the Lancaster County Fair to put on an epic show

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nowear BMX has been performing stunts at the Lancaster County fair for over a decade now.
The organization is a non-profit that offers free bike training and equipment to any riders who want to get involved.
Through their time at the county fair, they have aimed their shows to inspire and help kids find a community.
Mental health is a huge part of what the group advocates for, and by offering a safe space where all kids are welcome to attend, they are changing lives.
“What we do means a lot to me because I suffered from mental illness as a kid and lost a lot of friends over the year,” says owner Karl Hinkley. ” By being able to perform and show the kiddos that we care we are letting them know about our cause and a kid might then get actively involved with our organization and learn they have friendships and bonds that can save their life one day.”
The group will perform at the county fair every day and will also perform at the state fair.
They hold four shows a day and do stunts from backflips to high jump spins.
Jaramiah Droescher, a veteran BMX stunt performer loves returning to the fair each year.
“It’s fun making kids days. They don’t get to see this on the normal and it’s different from our everyday life too. We get to get away and it’s like a vacation that’s harder than real work but it’s more rewarding,” says Droescher.
Nowear BMX also has a one of a kind indoor ramp facility that’s open 3 days a week. Visit their compound on Sundays to train with the performers.
