NSP: 16-year-old driver flees on foot after high-speed chase
The driver reached speeds of 130 mph before exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

AURORA, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska State Patrol arrested two after a high-speed pursuit on I-80 near Aurora on Thursday.
A trooper witnessed a speeding vehicle driving with expired license plates on I-80 near Aurora, a traffic stop was attempted but the driver fled.
The trooper pursued as the vehicle reached speeds up to 130 mph until the driver slowed down and jumped from the moving vehicle, according to NSP.
The driver ran on foot towards a field where a trooper was able to apprehend him. The passenger stayed in the vehicle and a trooper took him into custody without further incident.
During the pursuit, a trooper noticed two items thrown from the vehicle. Troopers retrieved a stolen handgun and a methamphetamine pipe.
NSP took the 16-year-old driver into custody for felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, obstruction and other charges.
NSP arrested the passenger, 33-year-old Alexander Esquitin of Grand island, for possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance and other charges.
