NSP arrests man after multiple pursuits

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska State Patrol arrested 43-year-old Steven Gibson after multiple high-speed pursuits with Troopers on Monday.
A trooper saw Gibson speeding in his motorcycle on I-80 near North Platte, he refused to stop and fled from troopers with speeds in excess of 100 mph, according to NSP.
The trooper eventually stopped the pursuit of Gibson out of concern for public safety.
The North Platte Police Department received a report of Gibson traveling eastbound on Highway 30, 45 minutes after NSP pursued him.
Troopers attempted another traffic stop near Brady, and Gibson fled again at a high rate of speed.
Gibson cut in front of a moving train and stopped in a pasture near Gothenburg where a citizen blocked the entrance from the pasture back onto the highway, according to NSP.
Troopers were able to contact Gibson and took him into custody without further incident. NSP arrested Gibson for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and multiple traffic violations.
Troopers found unknown substances during a search that are now being tested at an NSP Crime lab.
