NSP finds 37 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KLKN) – A Nebraska State Patrol trooper found 37 pounds of marijuana, over a pound of psilocybin mushrooms and a handgun during a traffic stop on I-80 near Kimball on Tuesday.

A trooper pulled over a vehicle speeding near mile marker 18 on I-80 and during the traffic stop, he became suspicious of criminal activity.

During the search of the vehicle, the trooper found the drugs and the handgun, according to NSP.

The trooper arrested Myra Williamson, 19, of Turlock, Ca. and Andrew Mendoza, 22, of Keyes, Ca. for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession of a firearm during a drug violation and no drug tax stamp.
