LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Troopers arrested a Wisconsin man Thursday after a high-speed chase on Interstate 80, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

At 7:20 p.m., Deante House, 38, was speeding in a Cadillac Escalade on I-80 near Grand Island.

As troopers tried to pull House over, he exited I-80, just southwest of Grand Island.

But he then drove through the grass and got back onto I-80, the patrol said.

House was going over 120 mph, passing other cars on the shoulder, according to the patrol.

He eventually rear-ended a semi and came to a stop on the shoulder.

Officials said the driver of the semi was not injured, but House was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island with non-life-threatening injuries.

After the crash, troopers found several drugs on the ground outside of the Escalade.

Another bag — containing 15 pounds of meth, 2 pounds of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana — was found hidden in the car’s front fender, the patrol said.

After being released from the hospital, House was arrested on suspicion of several charges.
