BRIDGEPORT, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people have been arrested following a child abuse investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP).

The investigation began when the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office (MSO) received a report of a three-year-old victim with multiple injuries, including bruising, swelling, and lacerations. MSO quickly tipped NSP off to the report in February.

On Mar. 8, 24-year-old Brooke Stuart of Bridgeport was arrested for child abuse and 3rd-degree assault. A few days later, 21-year-old Juan Sanchez of Bridgeport was arrested for child abuse and failure to report suspected child abuse.

NSP says the investigation is still ongoing.
