Officer finds meth in vehicle during Grand Island traffic stop, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two men were caught Friday with meth and marijuana during a Grand Island traffic stop, police say.

Around 8:30 p.m., an officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding and having a missing headlight near Locust Street and Wedgewood Drive.

Police said the officer smelled marijuana, and the driver – Curt Bickford – admitted to smoking in the vehicle.

During a search, the officer found a “charred” marijuana joint and 13 grams of meth, according to police.

Bickford said the meth belonged to the passenger, Willie Walker Jr.  But Walker said it belonged to Bickford, police said.

Later on, Bickford was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
