Officer hospitalized after being shot in Omaha, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An officer was injured in a shooting Monday morning in Omaha, police say.
In a post on social media, the Omaha Police Department said officers are at multiple scenes near 120th Street and Dodge Road for an “officer-involved incident.”
Police said an officer was shot during the incident and taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
OPD did not provide any more details on what led up to the shooting.
A suspect has been taken into custody and there is no danger to the public, according to police.
Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen said he is “monitoring the situation” regarding the shooting.
“Our law enforcement officers—Police, Sheriffs, Troopers—are heroes,” he wrote on social media. “Say a prayer for each of them.”
