Officer shoots at car after traffic stop; Lincoln Police still searching for vehicle
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A police officer shot at a vehicle Sunday morning in north Lincoln.
Police pulled over a white sedan about 9:40 a.m. near 19th and Knox streets.
But the driver fled, ramming into a parked vehicle and driving over “large landscaping rocks,” according to the Lincoln Police Department.
The vehicle drove toward an officer, so the officer fired their weapon, police said.
Police do not think the driver was injured.
The officer who shot at the car, who was not hurt, has been placed on administrative leave.
LPD said investigators are gathering evidence and reviewing body camera footage.
Police are looking for a 2006 to 2011 white Hyundai Azera with an in-transit sticker.
It likely has damage to the rear and front.
If you see a vehicle matching that description, call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
