Officer uses Taser on man found working on stolen vehicle, Lincoln Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An officer used a Taser to stop a man who ran away after he was found working on a stolen vehicle, Lincoln Police say.
On Sunday around 6 p.m., officers spotted two stolen vehicles in a parking lot near 84th and Holdrege Streets.
When officers approached 47-year-old Mitchell Wachter, he was working on the stolen Ford E350, police say.
Wachter then ran into a field, where an officer eventually caught up and tackled him to the ground.
The 47-year-old was able to break free but was stopped when another officer used a Taser on him, police say.
Both vehicles and the tools inside of them were recovered by officers.
A loaded handgun was also found inside a bag on the front seat of the Chevy, police say.
Wachter was then arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
