Ohio State comes out swinging, run-rules Nebraska in Big Ten tourney

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska baseball suffered a blowout loss Tuesday in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Ohio State defeated the Huskers 15-2 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.

The Buckeyes batted .441 overall, while Nebraska managed only .167.

Ohio State took an early lead, then poured on eight runs in the fourth inning to pull away.

Josh Caron scored Nebraska’s lone run with a home run in the fourth.

The game ended in the seventh inning under the mercy rule.

The tournament is a double-elimination playoff.

The Huskers will face Purdue at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
