Oklahoma man found dead at northeast Nebraska ethanol plant

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities are investigating a death at an ethanol plant in northeast Nebraska.

Around 10 a.m. Saturday, Pierce County 911 received a call reporting a person passed out in a fermenting tank at the Husker Ag Ethanol Production Facility east of Plainview.

When first responders arrived, they made several attempts to resuscitate the victim, but were unsuccessful.

Randall McElroy, 31, of Cushing, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy has been ordered by the Pierce County Attorney, and the death remains under investigation.
