Omaha man arrested as suspect in shooting death of 10-year-old son

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police are investigating the death of a 10-year-old boy in Omaha.

Officers found Kendrick McDonald with a gunshot wound around 11:30 p.m., according to the Omaha Police Department.

The Omaha Fire Department transported him to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

His father, 47-year-old Will McDonald, was arrested on suspicion of criminal homicide, use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
