Omaha man convicted of murdering girlfriend, dumping body near Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man was convicted Thursday of killing his girlfriend last year.
Raymond Evans, 35, was found guilty of first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony in the murder of his girlfriend, Cecilia Perez, in November 2023.
Perez’s body was found in a field near 98th Street and Havelock Avenue, just east of the Sandhills Global Event Center, days after she was reported missing.
Investigators determined that Evans beat her to death.

He is set to be sentenced on Feb. 19, facing up to life in prison.
