Omaha man sentenced for selling hundreds of pounds of meth for Sinaloa cartel

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man was sentenced Friday for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
The court handed 43-year-old Gabriel Ramirez a 10-year sentence, acting U.S Attorney Susan Lehr said in a press release.
On March 18, 2022, a confidential informant purchased 217 grams of meth from Ramirez in Omaha.
Roughly a month later, on April 14, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Ramirez’s home and vehicle, finding over 7 pounds of meth and 21 grams of cocaine.
They also seized $9,140. Officials said Ramirez gave up any claim on the money.
Authorities said Ramirez admitted that he was a drug courier for the Sinaloa cartel and that he had picked up and sold 300 to 400 pounds of meth since September 2021.
There is no parole in the federal system. After Ramirez’s release from prison, he will begin a three-year term of supervised release.
