Omaha man sentenced to 25 years for three fentanyl-related deaths

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man has been sentenced for distribution of fentanyl-laced cocaine, according to a press release from acting U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr.

The court sentenced 45-year-old Andre Lott to 25 years in prison on Friday.

On April 20, 2020, Lott sold cocaine containing fentanyl to one of the victims, who then shared it with two others. Authorities found all three people deceased in a home in Ponca Hills.

Forensic reports indicated all three victims died of fentanyl poisoning.

There was a cellphone next to one of the victims. The Drug Enforcement Administration traced two contacts on the phone back to Lott.

Further, Lott’s DNA was present on a bag containing drug residue found in the backpack of one of the victims.

There is no parole in the federal system. After Lott is released from prison, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release.

“This case is a horrific reminder of the consequences of using illicit drugs,” Lehr said. “What started out as a party among friends resulted in three funerals and 25 years in prison for the victims’ supplier.”
