Omaha protest leaves dozens arrested Saturday night

Omaha police said 75 to 100 protesters were taken into custody Saturday night after they were obstructing a road.
The group “proBLAC” led the event in hopes of seeking justice for James Scurlock and to bring awareness to the protest in Portland, Oregon. Scurlock was the 22-year-old Black man shot and killed by Jacob Gardner, a white bar owner during the height of the protests back in May.
The group also said they wanted to stand in solidarity with protesters in Portland who have been protesting for over 50 days.
Omaha police say the protest began peaceful but arrest were made after people were obstructing traffic.
