Omaha restaurant to pay nearly $146,000 in back wages and interest

An Omaha restaurant will have to pay nearly $146,000 in back wages, liquidated damages and interest to eight current and former employees.

The Dept. of Labor’s investigation, found that China Palace in some cases failed to pay minimum wage or overtime, and didn’t have proper book-keeping.

The owners may also have to pay an $8,800 civil money penalty.

The Dept. of Labor said they’ve been investigated before, and didn’t make any changes.
