Omaha teen charged with homicide in overnight stabbing
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Omaha Police Department is investigating an overnight stabbing that killed a 17-year-old girl.
Officers were called to a home near 52nd and Maple streets just after 3 a.m. Sunday.
The victim was being taken to the hospital in a private vehicle before officers got there.
Police said Ezra Sinkiawic, a 17-year-old girl, died from her injuries.
When officers arrived on the scene, witnesses said the suspect was still inside the house.
The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Kianna Opal and was taken into custody.
Opal has been booked into the Douglas County Jail and charged with criminal homicide, according to law enforcement.
The investigation is still ongoing.
