One arrested, one cited in stabbing on Interstate 80 near Seward, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Seward County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing on Interstate 80.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a call about two people fighting on the eastbound shoulder near the Seward exit on Interstate 80.

When deputies arrived, they found a man with noticeable injuries to his face, and a third person standing nearby.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies treated two people before medics arrived.

Two of the men were taken to Bryan West in Lincoln for non-life threatening injuries.

One of the men — 24-year-old Erick Araujo of Venezuela — was cited for third-degree assault and released.

Carlos Rincon-Gonzalez, 21, also of Venezuela, was lodged in the Seward County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and assault by mutual consent.
