One dead after early morning crash left car in creek

PLATFORD-SPRINGFIELD II, Neb. (KLKN) — Wednesday morning, Sarpy County Sherrif’s Office (SSO) posted a press release on a fatal early morning accident.
It happened just after 2 o’clock, when Springfield Fire Department and SSO deputies responded to a fatal crash on 180th Street, just south of Pflug Rd.
They found a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro had left the roadway, went down an embankment, and stopped on its side in a creek. Two individuals were inside the car, identified as 27-year-old Ian Wichita and 24-year-old Evelynne Harrison from Omaha. Wichita died on scene, while Harrison was able to climb out of the vehicle.
This individuals was taken to Bergan Mercy Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
