One dead after Nebraska home explosion; authorities say it was arson

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One person was found dead Saturday after a house explosion in Wood River.
The Wood River Fire Department responded to the explosion about 9:15 a.m., according to the Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency.
Nearby buildings were also damaged, and one occupant of the home could not be found.
Investigators found that the natural gas system had been tampered with, authorities said, and ruled the explosion an arson.
A body was found in the basement of the home late Saturday night.
In a press release, authorities referred to that person – who has not been identified – as the suspect.
