One dead after vehicle crash near 14th and Hwy 2

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – UPDATE: Lincoln Police identified Hortencia Hernandes as the 23-year-old who died in a single-vehicle crash on 14th and Highway 2 Sunday morning.
The vehicle was eastbound on Highway 2 and started merging into the 14th turn lane. It went off the roadway and hit a railroad arm, railroad crossing signal, and pole.
Hernandes was rushed to Bryan West where she was later pronounced deceased.
Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

A vehicle crash near 14th and Highway 2 has left a 23-year-old female dead, according to Lincoln Police.
Authorities said around 7 a.m. Sunday, a white Nissan Altima was driving eastbound on Highway 2 when the vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and struck a post.
The driver of the vehicle was rushed to Bryan West where she was later pronounced deceased.
The southbound lanes of 14th near Highway 2 are shut down until further notice.
