One dead, one in critical condition after crash west of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One person was killed and another injured Wednesday in a crash west of Lincoln.

The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. near Southwest 84th and West A streets, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said a vehicle pulled out of a driveway on Southwest 84th, colliding with a vehicle that was going south.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Capt. John Vik said.

The other driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Vik said authorities would not be releasing the names of those involved until their families are notified.

Southwest 84th was closed from West A to West Van Dorn streets until 5 p.m. as authorities investigated.
