One killed, another seriously injured in crash southwest of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person was killed and another was seriously injured late Thursday night in a crash southwest of Lincoln.

The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on Highway 33 near Southwest 42nd Street.

Capt. John Vik with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says it appeared two vehicles had crashed nearly head-on.

When deputies arrived, both vehicles were in a ditch.

A driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, Vik said.  The other driver was flown to a hospital in “extremely critical condition.”

An investigation is ongoing.
