One killed in crash with semi on I-80 near Aurora

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A person was killed Wednesday night in a crash with a semitrailer near Aurora.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Interstate 80 at mile marker 334, just southeast of Aurora.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said a straight truck was heading east when it crossed the median and hit a westbound semi.

The straight truck caught fire and blocked the interstate’s westbound lanes.

The driver of the truck, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the semi was not injured.
