One killed in crash with semi on rural northeast Nebraska road

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person was killed Monday morning in a crash with a semitrailer in rural northeast Nebraska.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 8:10 a.m. on Highway 35 near Norfolk.

A vehicle heading east collided with a westbound semi, according to the sheriff’s office.  The vehicle ended up in a ditch.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the semi was taken to a hospital and later released.

An investigation is ongoing.
