One killed in plane crash near airport in Norfolk

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A pilot was killed Monday night in a crash near the Norfolk airport, police say.

The crash happened around 7:40 p.m., about a half mile south of the Karl Stefen Airport’s runway.

Police said a single-engine airplane crashed just after take-off.

The pilot, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Federal aviation authorities have been contacted to help assist in the investigation.
