One killed in Valparaiso mobile home fire, officials say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person and a dog were killed Saturday in a fire at a mobile home in Valparaiso, officials say.
Around 9 p.m., the Valparaiso Fire Department responded to the fire at the home near Maple and A Streets.
When crews arrived, the mobile home was “fully involved,” according to the Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency.
Crews found one person dead inside the home. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, officials say.
A dog was also found dead in the home. The agency considers the home a “total loss” due to its damage.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.
Crews from fire departments in Ceresco and Raymond helped extinguish the fire.
