One last round of April showers before May begins
Rain is expected to move in during the morning hours of Wednesday, likely after sunrise.
That rain will spread northeast through southeast Nebraska, giving us rain chances through the late morning and afternoon hours. Embedded storms with some rumbles of thunder and lightning may be possible.
Then by the evening, a front will drive some more rain and thunderstorms through central Nebraska, ending just after midnight. No severe threat is expected across the state today or tonight.
For southeast Nebraska, the lucky ones may see up to about a half an inch, but most of us will be around a tenth or so through Wednesday night.
Clouds and showers will keep us a bit cooler with highs in the low to upper 60s.
From here, the chance for rain becomes small because of more spotty chances swinging on through Thursday and Friday.
Then we’ll warm slightly to the upper 70s for a while through the first full week of May (next week).
